Early fan and former Barbed Wire fanzine writer Alan Fred Pipes has uploaded a brilliant set of photos from 1979 to Flickr. The photos capture the band at various live gigs, from small local shows around Guildford to larger venues whilst supporting The Jam on the Setting Sons tour in the autumn. There are also some shots in the studio taken during the Turning Japanese session as well as ones in a car park with a Morris 1000! Features For many fans of the band, their first online discovery about The Vapors was the legendary website ‘Secret Noise’ run by a long-term fan called Par Engstrom from Sweden. It featured interviews, a detailed worldwide discography, lyrics, photos and a guestbook which was often frequented by actual band members! In those pre-Facebook days, it was amazing to actually interact with any of those guys, or other fans around the world, even if it was only in the virtual world. News In light of the current global situation we all find ourselves in, we’ve unfortunately had to delay the album release date until mid May.
We’re really sorry but we want the album to be available via as many sources as possible. At the moment, because of delays in the supply chain due to lockdown and self isolation, we find ourselves with little choice but to postpone temporarily.

News Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it should come as no surprise that more of the remaining From The Jam Setting Sons 40th Anniversary tour gigs have been postponed until the summer. Sadly, with The Vapors’ commitments on the Lost 80s Live tour in the USA, they are not able to appear as special guests on some of the new dates. News We have just heard this from From The Jam about this weekend’s Scottish dates:
It is with much regret the decision has been made to postpone the shows in Scotland planned for this week. Other gigs may follow suit.
With the current health situation we have been advised to reschedule them for later in the year.
This decision has not been taken lightly as it affects a lot of livelihoods and all of the team hates cancelling as we know the disappointment and inconvenience it causes.… Read the rest

This weekend the band head back out on the final leg of the 40th anniversary of Setting Sons tour with From The Jam. There are 16 more dates to go on what has been a mammoth trek across the length & breadth of the United Kingdom. Details of the remaining shows can be found in the gig listing to the left.
